Plan to Attend Research Retreat June 1
Join your colleagues for the UNMC College of Medicine Research Retreat, Friday, June 1 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center on the first floor of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education, 619 S 42nd Street, Omaha. Meet and mingle and learn about translational research possibilities.
The keynote speaker is Michael Lauer, M.D., deputy director for extramural research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). John Spertus, M.D., Lauer/Missouri Endowed Chair and a professor of Medicine, University of Missouri-Kansas City, will deliver the closing lecture. UNMC faculty, Ken Bayles, Nora Sarvetnick, Deepta Ghate, Tony Hollingsworth, Iraklis Pipinos and Dmitry Oleynikov will deliver speed talks.
There will also be focus group discussions on: Gene Therapy and Genome Editing; Inflammation and Metabolism; Imaging: From People to Molecules; Informatics and Systems Improvement; Drug and Device Development; and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
